Drawing is diving into the soul.
Drawing is diving into the richness of the soul. Discovering this fertility - not believing in emptiness and despair - means to experience increasingly clear that we are touched by a Breath which gives Life. Drawing gives me breath, it's my golden light and living blood.
I work with ink, etching, and watercolor on a smaller size. I love the intimacy and honesty of these techniques. The result I experience as a handful of pure matter which nevertheless can be a carrier of one world, of a story, of the images of the soul. I love that.
These images I do not think up in advance. Completely absorbed in the act of drawing, they appear out of myself, as they want to come now, and as I am able now to render them, clear and living. These gems emerge slowly, in a silence that always comes back.
Integrity of creation - to understand that this work does not want to be bigger, but still wants to be deeper and more sincere - is the heart of what I do.
Being an artist is not my choice. Art is a vital passion which I cannot escape, and that only gets stronger with the years - but: a passion that is experienced in immense gratitude ... It is my breath, and my golden light and living blood.
